Wirrig Pavilion

Your Input Matters

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

The Miami Township Board of Zoning will meet tomorrow and the outcome will determine if comedian Dave Chappelle can continue hosting his intimate outdoor comedy shows at the Wirrig Pavilion in Greene County.
The issue: Commercial use of an agriculturally zoned property
The Pavilion owners have applied to the Board of Zoning Appeals for a temporary conditional use permit that would allow outdoor entertainment events, specifically and only, the Chappelle shows, to be held until Oct 4, 2020.
“This is a temporary exception requested during an exceptional period in our history.”
In June, Chappelle began hosting intimate comedy shows at the Wirrig Pavilion as a safe space to inspire creativity and to provide an escape during a time when many in the community and country were feeling the emotional impact of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond the comic relief, the events are having a positive impact on the local economy and community by (1) employing area residents, (2) revitalizing local business and (3) providing a sense of normalcy in these uncertain times.
Tell the Board of Zoning Appeals “the show must go on!”
